Hannah's new house
Hannah's parents will also be moving here. So will Gillon, but he is off to college, so hardly counts any more. Hannah's bedroom windows and deck are visible in the upper left portion of the house.

The porch has a comfortable old-fashioned feel with a fabulous view.

The current living room. Hannah has an interior designer already working on design plans and color schemes.

Hannah's quarters comprise the entire upper floor. This view is from her sitting room looking into her bedroom and out to her private deck and balcony. Behind this scene is her personal bathroom and a room that she will be using for her closet and changing room.

Hannah's balcony view is by far, the most spectacular in the house. Undoubtedly plans are underway for furnishing the area with a cozy seating arrangement, and perhaps a potted plant.

Our Holiday
The Brintzenhofes invited us over to bicycle - we went from Marymoor Park to the UW and back. According to Dan's odometer, we rode 43.57 miles (rounded to the nearest hundredth of a mile). He pointed out that although this was 3.112 times farther than his daily commute, it was taking us 4.377 times longer. (Meaning he normally rides 27.119% faster.) And there aren't even any hills. Not that he was pointing out that we were slow pokes and wimps, but I could remind him that I was ahead of him the whole time.

We are rewarded after the ride with a fantastic dinner. It may look like way too much food for four people, but we were super hungry.

Diane's salad is still the best ever (Mary's salad is second best) I could make a meal of it every day.

Dan don't forget to buy some of this extrordinary wine.

A department of kooks - all except me.

Old pictures turn up everywhere while cleaning the extra room.

OK back to work.

Saturday night dinners
The Crichtons gladly accepted our dinner invitation since 1. they are not allowed to mess up their kitchen the day before the open house, and 2. Dan is such a good cook. Menu: guacamole, Copper River salmon, asparagus pasta and green salad [I made the salad] and tapioca pudding with strawberries [also my contribution]). So I don't know why we everyone was hungry when we got back from the movie.

So far no calls from the police.
But something is going on. I come home and
everything looks normal although I'm locked out of the house
There are eggs on the porch
a little bag of flour on the counter
a hose is laying out
and another hose.
Now, with shaving cream in hand, they have left the house saying they will be back soon.

My sociological theory:
BHS students are not litterbugs, but they are forgetful. The evidence.
Look at all this trash under the BHS sports tree. And the garbage can is right there. But this was a Monday morning and I believe all this trash is from the visiting teams and parents and other spectators at weekend games.
This is a typical mid-week morning scene. Notice - no trash. But there are plenty of forgotten sweatshirts, t-shirts, socks and one shoe (?).
One of the groundskeepers (checking up on weirdos taking pictures of trash) corroborated my theory and told me he has been amazed at the things students have left there. Apparently the baseball dugout is another popular place to leave items. He wouldn't tell me what the strangest item was that he ever found. Makes you wonder.

Iris Fields
Last time we were in Anacortes, I got Dan to stop the car so I could take this picture. Not as easy as it sounds. "Stop? Right here? I can't stop right on the side of this busy road." "That's a driveway, I can't pull into someone's driveway." How does he ever get anything accomplished with all those rules he has to follow?

Bainbridge Island City Hall
Dan said he had never been in the city hall (completed in Feb 2000) and since I was in there yesterday talking to a planner and I had my camera because I was out bicycling around to photograph comps, I took this interior shot. (24,000 sf building designed by Miller/Hull)

Monsoon at the Clean Center and her "cutesy baby"

Monsoon not only always looks beautiful, I've never seen the same outfit twice. She must have one of those motorized revolving clothing racks at home.

May 18 is . . .
In the old days, we knew it as the day Mt. St. Helens erupted. And Hannah's birthday.

But now that Hannah is a big star, we know it is her birthday. And wasn't that the day Mt. St. Helens erupted?

Washington Park
My favorite park
Dan slept on the grass while I crawled around on my stomach to take close-ups.

I took Dan on some trails. He questioned the safety of these adventurous routes, and OK, maybe they aren't official trails, but it seems like I went on these with the kids.

This is Rusty who comes with his master to my mom's bridge games.

For Mother's Day, Becky made this lovely vase for her grandmother.

And I understand that she is making brie pasta for me for dinner tomorrow. If she wants to find the recipe, she can check the recipe section of my blog.

The amazing Greg
He can build anything - and really fast! He made this great new deck in two days.
Not only that, he gives free advice on how to fix things yourself. And being the fix-it person in the house, I've found it very useful.

The many poses of a Becky in the air.
This could become a new form of portraiture.
HKC may have taken some of these photos.
