Cleo is tired of playing, and finally Marilynn is sitting on the sofa, so I don't have to follow her all around the house and I can take a nap. I'm used to all the weird smells and the rules here (no jumping on the bed if Dan is in it.) We stopped by the office (I think it was to get one of those dog biscuits from Marilynn's desk) and I didn't even need to go check for Julie and Ant. I think they've been gone two days now ... or maybe it's been two months. Whatever.

Frosty leaves
Timing for taking my pictures was totally dependant on the sun's hourly variation of color temperature and obtaining the best oblique winter solstice angle for emphasizing texture. It also worked out to be right before Dan got back from the grocery store, so that I missed having to help carry in the groceries.

Is this really possible? Can you see the price on these gloves??? $79?? (Marked down from $99). Who in their right mind would pay that much money for a pair of gloves that don't even have fingers in them? In fact they are really more like oversized sweat bands with a hole in them for your thumb. Would anyone really be duped into thinking that because they are in a Burberry's store they are so "special"???

Holiday Band Concert
Featuring Dan on Tuba and other people with other instruments.
Band is serious stuff. Dan played in the pre-concert quartet and was so anxious about getting there on time that he ruined our Santa Fe Cafe dinner by looking at his watch every 10 seconds. You'd think his musical career was hinging on this.
The concert was quite relaxing and efficiently conducted (by a substitute conductor who does not pepper his introductions with hilarious antecdotes.)
